Celebrating the Impact of Your Compassion

Widows carrying their Christmas bags

As this year draws to a close, we’re pausing to marvel at what God has done through your compassion. When you choose to give, pray, and stand with vulnerable communities, your impact reaches far beyond what you may ever see. It fills empty hands with hope. It restores dignity to families who have gone without. And it strengthens entire communities in ways that ripple through generations.

Today, we want to share just a glimpse of the transformation you made possible last year with stories of water, hope, and unexpected Christmas joy.

WATER PROJECT IN WEST POKOT

They say, “Water is life,” and indeed, it is. Our water project in Pokot has proven so. Women and children used to walk for more than five kilometers to get water. Because of the distance, they would leave in the morning and come back in the evening. Through Kinship United, Ujamaa was able to drill a borehole that is giving the whole community enough water. They now call this place “Canan” because it flows with water, not honey and milk.

Some women have even made small gardens and planted vegetables. Pokots are herders by nature, and livestock is very important to them. Back then, women would leave with the animals as they went to fetch water, leaving children back at home starving and thirsty.

With plenty of water close to them, life changed for the better and even opened their eyes. We pray for the chance to bring them even more life-changing opportunities in the future.

WIDOWS’ CHRISTMAS PROJECT

In December 2024, we organized a project that would benefit around 2,000 widows. With Kinship United’s enormous support, we bought wheat flour, cooking oil, sugar, and tea leaves for each beneficiary.

Choosing the Christmas season for this outreach event was very suitable. It’s a tradition in many African countries, Kenya included, that on Christmas day, a special meal has to be made. For most of them, that special meal is “Chapati,”. These women did not believe their eyes; wheat flour and cooking oil, among other things, were in our package!

I saw the joy in these women and how grateful they were to God, and I realized that the package wasn’t as small to them as I had thought.

THANK YOU

Thank you for making these beautiful moments possible. Your generosity is more than a gift. It’s a testimony of God’s love in action. Because of you, mothers are resting easier, communities are thriving, and widows celebrated Christmas with joy they never imagined.

We are deeply grateful for your partnership, your faith, and your heart for those in need. May God bless you abundantly for the hope you’ve sown this year and for the lives you continue to touch.
