Tabitha is an 8-year-old girl with a bright smile and an even brighter future. Six months ago, she was brought to Bosnia Kinship by her grandmother. At the time, Tabitha’s life was in danger. Her mother, struggling with alcoholism, had been taking her from one drinking den to another. Her father, a security guard and the family’s sole breadwinner, had been tragically killed while at work, leaving Tabitha exposed to hardship and neglect.
Before coming to Bosnia, Tabitha often lacked proper food and missed her medication, leaving her weak and drowsy most of the time. She even recalls nights when she slept hungry, one night even being rained on before a kind stranger gave them shelter. At just 8 years old, Tabitha carries memories no child should have of being given local alcohol to sleep and waragi (local brew) being her version of porridge.
But everything changed when she found a home at Bosnia Kinship.
Today, Tabitha is a joyful and intelligent little girl who radiates hope. She is currently in PP1 and has shown incredible academic potential. Despite missing two weeks of school because she was unwell, she still managed to secure the first position in her class. Her energy has returned, her laughter fills the room, and she no longer spends her days sleeping in weakness. She is thriving.
Tabitha is a happy and jovial child, yet she remains very polite and quiet. She enjoys keeping to herself and is thoughtful beyond her years, carrying a calm spirit that quietly touches everyone around her.
To all our dear friends and supporters, thank you. Because of your generosity and compassion, Tabitha’s story is no longer one of pain and suffering, but one of healing, joy, and possibility. She feels her life has taken a beautiful turn, and we believe her future is full of promise.
You are blessed and favored. Lots of love.
