Before Mary Mercy ever steps into a classroom, her day is already full of lessons in kindness, responsibility, and love.
From helping younger children get ready to serving tea to her brothers and sisters, her morning offers a beautiful glimpse into everyday life in a Kinship Family and the sense of belonging that helps children thrive.
Every morning, Mary Mercy wakes up early before the rest of the children. She begins her day by making her bed, knowing that a neat room is a good way to start the day. Afterwards, she gently wakes up the younger girls she shares a room with. Since they’re still young, Mary Mercy helps them get ready for the day with kindness and patience.
Her next responsibility is helping with the morning chores. She fetches water and cleans the sleeping area. Within the Kinship Family, every child has a responsibility, and the house is divided into different sections so that everyone works together. Mary Mercy faithfully cleans her assigned area, helping to keep their home clean and welcoming.
Once the chores are finished, she goes to wash and get herself ready. She returns, puts on her school uniform, and prepares for breakfast.
Mary Mercy enjoys being a helpful member of her Kinship Family. Before everyone leaves for school, she gladly helps set the table for breakfast and serves tea to her brothers and sisters. She also helps the younger children find their school bags, especially when they get mixed up or the little ones cannot find them. Her caring heart and willingness to serve make her a blessing to everyone around her.
When everything is ready, Mary Mercy joins her brothers and sisters as they leave for school, excited to learn, grow, and dream about a bright future.
For Mary Mercy, every day begins with love, responsibility, and service. Through the care she receives and the values she practices with her Kinship Family, she is growing into a compassionate, responsible, and confident young girl who is ready to make a difference in the world.
