About Us

Our goal is to touch as many lives as we can by bringing hope to those struggling to find it.

At Ujamaa, we see the struggles of those we serve because they are our neighbors. Guided by God’s call to “love your neighbor as yourself” and to “look after orphans and widows in their distress,” we are committed to making a difference.

Our mission is to develop impactful programs, provide essential relief, and create safe, nurturing communities that rescue and care for “the least of these” when they feel overlooked or forgotten.

Our organization is dedicated to helping women, children, and communities not just survive but thrive. We equip them with the tools they need to build brighter, more self-sufficient futures.

Some of our impactful achievements include providing essential medical care to children in need, drilling a borehole in West Pokot to supply clean water for the community, hosting outreach events to deliver nutritious meals and Christmas gifts to widows, and building a safe home for a widow who feared her collapsing house would endanger her grandchildren—and so much more.

Looking ahead, we are committed to even greater goals. These include offering technical training to children in the community, launching an adult education program, empowering widows with income-generating skills for financial independence, and continuing to expand our reach with transformative projects.

Statement of Faith

1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

3. We believe in the deity and humanity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in his vicarious and atoning death through his shed blood, in his bodily resurrection, in his ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His present rule as Head of the Church and His personal return in power and glory.

4. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful men regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, with equality across racial, gender and class differences.

By giving me this food, at a time like this, when I hadn't figured out what my grandchildren were going to eat on Christmas day, you have made me feel like my husband has resurrected
