Ezina, well known by the affectionate name “Khukhu,” meaning grandmother, is a loving and caring woman whose life story reflects strength, resilience, and a heart of service. She is a widow who lost her husband three years ago. This loss marked a difficult turning point in her life, leaving her feeling empty, burdened, and in great need. Despite the challenges, she remained strong for her six children, raising them on the small piece of land and modest home her late husband left behind.
When the opportunity arose for a caregiver position at Emmanuel Kinship, Ezina was selected, and since then, she has faithfully and joyfully served in this role. Her presence in the Kinship has become a blessing to both the children and the staff.
Upon entering the Kinship, one is welcomed by a tall, beautiful, and jovial woman whose warmth fills the room. She greets visitors kindly, offers them a seat, and engages them with genuine interest and love. Her character quickly stands out, not only to adults but also to the children under her care.
It became evident that nearly every child gravitated toward her. The children have said, “Khukhu is loving. She advises us, teaches us new things, plays with us, and protects everyone in the Kinship.” Her motherly nature has brought warmth and unity into the home. She has become a safe place for the children and someone they run to for comfort, guidance, and joy.
Her love for service is evident in the way she carries out her duties. She works diligently, always giving her best, and offering unconditional love to all the children. For her, the role is not about what she receives but about what she can give back. Through this opportunity, she has moved from loneliness and grief to embracing a big, vibrant family that has restored her strength and courage.
Today, she lives with more joy and hope. While she remembers her late husband fondly, her heart is now full of purpose as she pours love into the children of Emmanuel Kinship. She is a true blessing an example of resilience, compassion, and servant leadership.
We extend our sincere gratitude for giving her this opportunity to serve the community in such a meaningful and loving way. Her impact will continue to be felt for many years. May God richly bless you and continue expanding your territories. Lots of love.
